Common Processing Challenges

Sharp edges create safety, coating, and quality problems.
Laser cutting, punching, and shearing often leave edges that are too sharp for safe handling or stable powder coating. Manual rounding can work for small batches, but consistency becomes difficult as production volume grows.

Sharp edges after cutting

Unsafe manual handling

Inconsistent edge radius

Poor coating adhesion

Manual grinding bottlenecks

Quality variation between operators

For manufacturers that need safer handling, better coating adhesion, and repeatable edge radius, an automatic edge rounding machine makes the finishing process more stable than manual grinding.

What It’s Built For

Built for edge radius consistency on sheet metal parts.
R and RR configurations use universal rotary brushes to contact external edges, internal contours, and openings from multiple directions.
Typical Applications
Laser-cut sheet metal parts
Punched parts with internal holes
Sheared panels
Stainless steel fabrication
Powder coating preparation
Suitable Materials

Edge rounding configurations

Choose R for efficient edge rounding or RR for greater rounding intensity

Both configurations use universal rotary brushes for multi-directional contact with straight edges, contours and internal openings. Select the number of brush units from the required radius, part geometry and production volume.

R

One universal rotary brush unit

A compact configuration for routine edge radiusing and safer handling.

  • Lower consumable count
  • Light-to-moderate radius targets
  • 800mm, 1000mm, 1300mm & 1600mm widths

RR

Two universal rotary brush units

Additional brush contact for more intensive, consistent edge rounding on complex parts.

  • Higher edge-rounding capacity
  • More contact across mixed contours
  • 800mm, 1000mm, 1300mm & 1600mm widths
Edge rounding only: choose BR, BBR or BRB when cutting burrs must also be removed. Aluminum requires suitable wet dust collection.

Processing Flow: Applications

Powder Coating Preparation

Rounded edges help prepare exposed corners for more consistent coating coverage. Confirm the required radius and edge condition using representative parts.

Laser Cut Sheet Metal Parts

Round sharp external edges and internal openings on laser-cut sheet metal parts. Parts with substantial burrs may require belt deburring before brush rounding.

Stainless Steel Fabrication

Rounds sharp edges on medium-to-large stainless steel panels, producing a consistent finish ready for powder coating or plating.

FAQ

R uses one universal rotary brush unit for standard edge rounding. RR adds a second brush unit for greater rounding intensity or higher production requirements.

Yes. A consistent radius helps coating wrap around edges more evenly and reduces weak points at sharp corners.

Universal rotary brushes contact edges from multiple directions, making them suitable for external edges, contours and many internal openings.

Send material, thickness, part drawings or photos and target edge radius. Lasvio can recommend R or RR based on the required result.
